Did you know the Florida manatee is a subspecies of the West Indian manatee? Nicknamed “sea cows” due to their grazing on seagrass, their numbers have rebounded from 1,267 about thirty years ago to around 6,300 today, thanks to the Endangered Species Act! Our soothing scene depicts a momma manatee and her baby enjoying clear waters in the Everglades, while a Great Egret, Wood Stork and Great Blue Heron find abundant food nearby.
